A community Minecraft server open for the two weeks of the Jinglecrafters campaign to raise money for Jingle Jam. Instead of one survival world, the server was split between a central adventure mode hub, three small survival mode worlds for building bases: Blossom Peaks, Armadillo Heights, and Frostmere, and a “Daily Seed” which allowed players to explore and gather resources in a fresh world each day.
HISTORY
This was the WraithStation’s Original contribution to the Jinglecrafters campaign.
Jinglecraft SMP (2024)
A Minecraft server with SMP areas, activities, and mini events, to raise money for Jingle Jam.
TRIVIA
- A treasure hunt took place with each part of the puzzle being located in the daily seed. Anyone who solved the treasure hunt’s clues and discovered the secret password received an elytra and a shulker box full of goodies.
- WraithStation classic event “Trading Posts” returned with fourteen challenges to complete. Each one completed gave a skill point that could be used to upgrade player stats such as max health points.
- A Trade-Ins Centre provided an area for players to sell excess resources for coins that could be spent in an assortment of shops around the hub.
- Many of the shop names were based on references or puns. For example the bookstore “Lavastones” was a reference to British bookstore “Waterstones”. “Jar Of Dirt” was a reference to Pirates Of The Caribbean.
- Building plots could be claimed within the hub.
- There was a spin wheel that could be spun daily in order to win a free randomised prize.
- There was a Hall Of Fame where players could compete for the leaderboards in certain categories, such as the most distance travelled or the most gingerbread eaten.
- A Post Office was available for players to leave items for each other.
- Bonus SMP events, held on European evenings, included the Ender Dragon fight and a Tag Hide & Seek event.
- The server was ran on a custom version of the Banner JAR, allowing the server to make use of both mods and plugins.
