Teams complete challenges to earn money, with the goal to become the richest by the end of the event.

HISTORY

Trading Posts (May 2022)

Set in The Fringe, a vast expanse of land between the territories of three great nations: Rabbitville, Siren’s Port, and Fungwick.  Teams must take advantage of the brewing war to earn as much money as they can.

Trading Posts: Anniversary (February 2023)

Teams must earn money by completing challenges to help set up for WraithStation’s anniversary party.

Trading Posts: Jinglecraft (December 2024)

Trading Posts returned as a small part of the Jinglecraft SMP.  Players could sell resources in a room beneath the statue to earn money, or complete challenges to earn advancements and skill points to level up their attributes.

Trading Posts: New Year Party (January 2026)

A Trading Posts mini event was held with WraithStation staff and partners as players, to celebrate the start of the new year.

TRIVIA

• The first Trading Posts had strong roleplay elements, with an admin playing the part of each faction leader: the “King” of the Rabbitville bandits, the Spymaster of Siren’s Port, and the General of Fungwick.  These admins chatted to the players and gave out quests in character.
• The stone villager statue is a staple of every edition of Trading Posts.
• Trading Posts is an IRL Scout game, and Wraith’s favourite Scout activity.  When Wraith was a Scout, she would always carry a few useful materials in her pockets to every troop meeting, in case they would be playing Trading Posts that evening.  This led to her Scout leaders having to ban the use of such materials.
• Wraith has run Trading Posts as an IRL event on multiple occasions, both for The Scout Association and other groups, although not Minecraft themed.
